Amy Freeman, GSM for Audacy Miami is Radio Ink's first Sales Manager of The Week. Amy started her career in her home town of Kansas City after graduating from the University of Kansas. She's worked in San Diego, Cincinnati, L.A. now Audacy in Miami.

In honor of the late Lisa McKay, successful programmer and member of the Country Radio Hall of Fame, Country Radio Broadcasters has created a scholarship program. The Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship program will debut at CRS 2022.

Mid-West Family Broadcasting in Springfield MO. has promoted Scott Ellis to Cluster Operations Manager and PD for 92.9 The Beat. And, Shadow White is hired as the new APD for KQRA.

(By Ed Ryan) Obviously COVID-19 has become a major part of our lives again. We're debating masks, the vaccine, how schools deal with this strain, and more. The COVID challenge doesn't stop at the radio station door. People inside the industry are trying to deal with this as best they can. Many have passionate opinions about COVID. These next two columns are the opinion's of the writers only. We're sure they will spark comment and civilized debate.

(By Bob McKay) First, props to Beasley, Cumulus, and Radio One for leading the way regarding vaccines for their employees. Companies like these are definitely taking a proactive approach in helping our country to get ahead of this horrible pandemic.

(Bob Mecham) The NAB is requiring you to be vaccinated in order to attend the convention. And, more recently, Cumulus, Radio One and Beasley have jumped on the mandated vaccine bandwagon in order to continue working for their companies. Here are my thoughts.

Flood Communications in Nebraska has made Inc. Magazine's list of fastest-growing companies in America. Flood Communications has 10 radio stations in Nebraska and is one of only 32 companies from the state of Nebraska that made the list.

The National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters and The U.S. Black Chambers fall conference will be in person and virtual. There will be limited in person attendance with all participants required to show proof of vaccination.

KQED, PBS/NPR radio out of San Francisco, will be offering a live event series this fall. The series will originate out of The Commons, a 238-seat multipurpose theater at KQED’s new headquarters.
