(By Buzz Knight) What are the potential implications of the Nielsen sale for the Radio business? I posed the question to a few of my former mates from The Council of Research Excellence. CRE was a Nielsen funded think tank that was created in the early 2000’s as a means to help challenge Nielsen to improve audience measurement.

New Country 101FIVE/WKHX-FM in Atlanta, is wrapping up a Free Gas Fill-up promotion April first. The station has been filling up listeners gas tanks on Tuesdays and contesting $50 dollar gas giveaways and Free Friday Fill-Ups for the past seven weeks.

Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Philadelphia, raised over $65,000 in support of veterans in partnership with the Travis Manion Foundation. The foundation is led by veterans and families of the fallen that develops, unites and strengthens communities by training, developing, and highlighting the role models that lead them.

Minnesota Public Radio "The Current" has hired Ayisha Jaffer as a new host. Jaffer joins the station as an evening host from WNXP in Nashville where she hosted middays and served as Assistant Program Director.

"Classical 24", the 24/7 classical Music Service produced by American Public Media, will now be distributed by APM. An agreement has been reached transferring distribution from PRX to APM.

Randy Fox is the new Program Director for KSBJ in Houston. Fox joins the Hope Media Group coming over from American General Media in Albuquerque.
