There are 26 "Rising Through the Ranks" 2022 Scholarship recipients. The program is presented by the Radio Advertising Bureau, BMI and Inspiring Women in Radio.

Friends of Georgia Radio will induct five Georgia Radio Legends in its inaugural class of 2022. Nominations began June 20th and must come from Friends of Georgia Radio members. The deadline to submit is July 14th.

The 2nd Florida Jobs Now Career Expo is being presented by iHeartMedia Central Florida, SeaWorld and Aquatica. The event is set for Thursday, July 14th in Orlando.

Country Radio vet Cadillac Jack is joining the morning team at WDSY-FM in Pittsburgh. He will join co-hosts Kristen and Maria on "Y'd Awake", July11.

Gene Baxter co-hosted the Kevin and Bean morning show on KROQ in Los Angeles for 30 years. He retired at the end of 2019 and moved back to the UK, where he was born. Baxter has been working for Podcast Radio ever since and will be part of our upcoming virtual podcasting conference on July 19th and 20th.

Nominations for Radio Ink's Radio Wayne Awards are underway. The awards recognize radio's best in sales, marketing and management. The 2021 winner for DOS/GSM of the Year was Paul Blake from Beasley Media Group in Philadelphia. We caught up with Blake to see how things have been going since his big win.

On Wednesday the NAB (which opposes Zonecasting technology) circulated a letter from House Reps Yvette Clarke (D-NY) and Darren Soto (D-FL) that was sent to FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel questioning the technology GeoBroadcasting Solutions has been trying to get through at the Commission.

The National Association of Broadcasters has filed more comments with the FCC regarding the Commission's proposed Fiscal Year 2022 fees. A 13% increase in regulatory fees from last fiscal year has been characterized as "staggering" for local broadcasters.

Alpha Media San Jose’s Country station KBAY-FM has hired Tony Michaels. Michaels will be hosting weekend afternoons on the Bay Area’s only Country radio station.
