Compass Media Networks will distribute "A Country Gold Christmas" to affiliates the weekend of Christmas Eve. The five-hour special will feature holiday standards, yuletide favorites, special DJ shout-outs and festive songs.

Nick and Eric Vidal, better known as the Baka Boyz, will host their annual year-end special "Baka Boys New Year's Eve Hip-Hop Classic Mix" the weekend of December 30. The three-hour special will be presented commercial-free.

The House Judiciary Committee voted in favor of moving the American Music Fairness Act out of Committee and onto the House floor for a full vote. The bill, if enacted into law, would require radio stations to pay artists to play their music. The Bill is not expected to be approved by the current Congress.

iHeartMedia's Chicago hip-hop station WGCI (107.5 FM) donated more than $13,000 in proceeds from a recent concert to two elementary schools. The money was collected as part of WGCI's Big Jam 2022 concert series.

iHeartMedia's Los Angeles news-talk station KFI (640 AM) raised more than $1.17 million and collected over 27,100 pounds of pasta and sauce during the station's 12th Annual PastaThon. The pasta, sauce and monetary donations will benefit Caterina's Club.

Saga announced Wednesday that Warren Lada has been elected Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Lada has been a board member since 2018. He served as COO from March 2016 to June 2018 and, more recently, as Interim President and CEO following the death of CEO Ed Christian.

A group of over 40 musicians have signed a letter to lawmakers urging the passage of the American Music Fairness Act, a proposed law that would tax radio to play their music. The letter comes as the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote Wednesday on whether to refer the American Music Fairness Act to the full House chamber.

Cumulus Media's D.C.-area talk station WMAL (105.9 FM) raised more than $405,000 during its Operation Fisher House radiothon. The charity campaign started December 1 and went over the course of two days.
