First Amendment Win
The FCC has rejected a petition by Free Press demanding a government investigation into broadcasters that have aired statements by President Trump during his Coronavirus Task Force briefings and related commentary regarding the coronavirus pandemic by other on-air personalities.
Pai Thanks Broadcasters
On Monday FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai praised radio and TV broadcasters for continuing to inform the public during the coronavirus crisis. He specifically highlighted the PSA's stations were airing, COVID-19 reporting and the fundraising being done for those hardest hit by the pandemic.
NAB Supports AM Going Digital
And the organization has filed comments with the FCC showing its support for allowing AM broadcasters to voluntarily broadcast in digital. The NAB also points out in its comments, that you can read HERE, that nearly all other comments filed are also in support.
Group Pledges $2 Million in Ads To Businesses
Pacific Media Group has created a $2 Million Marketing Fund for Hawaii businesses. Pacific, which owns 20 stations in Hawaii, designed the program to help local businesses connect with consumers looking for goods and services during the pandemic.
