As a result of non-payment, the NCAA cancelled its contract with Cumulus. In September Cumulus and the NCAA filed competing lawsuits regarding the dispute.

With Q3 revenue coming in at $196.4 million in Q3, Cumulus, like every other company in America, continues to struggle through a national pandemic. To offset the steep revenue decline, the company continues to slash spending. $85 million in cost-savings is expected this year.

Entercom is acquiring three stations from Urban One: WPHI-FM in Philadelphia, Hot 104.1 (WHHL-FM) in St. Louis and 980 The Team (WTEM-AM) in Washington D.C. In exchange, Entercom is trading its Charlotte stations to Urban One.
