The holiday boom continues bringing Q4 cash to radio, with Lowe’s building the biggest national advertising week of the year. The home improvement giant ran a year-record 96,943 spots from November 27 to December 3, according to Media Monitors.

Budget cell carrier Boost Infinite continues to hold a strong presence at number two, with a slight increase to 58,929 spots, up from the previous week’s 58,166. Pfizer also reentered the top five for the first time since October amid a pre-holiday vaccination push with 54,845 spot plays.

While nearly doubled by its competitor, The Home Depot increased its rotations from 43,589 to 49,741, remaining in fourth.

Boost Mobile, which is not affiliated with Boost Infinite, popped into this week’s top five with 43,351 spot plays after several weeks of hovering in the top ten. Two more cell carriers sit in the top ten, with Cricket and Verizon Wireless finishing sixth and tenth respectively, showing that sector’s heavy potential.

Overall, the total spot plays for the top five advertisers reached 303,809 in the past week, marking a substantial increase from the previous week’s 265,047 and 59% growth over a month. Radio remains a key platform for advertisers seeking to reach their target audiences, especially during the competitive holiday season.
