iHeartMedia Los Angeles has added Matt Wheeler as the new Director of Imaging for 102.7 KIIS FM, starting immediately. Wheeler’s oversight of the station’s audio identity comes under the guidance of KIIS Program Director Beata Murphy.
Wheeler’s journey in radio imaging and production began in 2001 in Panama City, FL. His career led him through various directorial and on-air positions in Sacramento and Austin before his role with KIIS.
Murphy commented, “We are excited to have Matt join the KIIS Family. We ran a very extensive search to find our newest family member, and Matt stood out during the interviews and gave us some brilliant examples of his work. We are thrilled to have him on the team.”
Wheeler added, “The chance to image KIIS FM is the culmination of a career-long dream. I still remember the first time I heard one of their legal IDs with those iconic call letters booming from the speakers of my first production room and thinking, ’Wow, so THAT is what a radio station can sound like!’ I’m thrilled to be part of the insanely talented team at KIIS.”
