California Aids Radio Bilingüe In Fresno Expansion With $2M Grant

Spanish-language news/talk Radio Bilingüe has received a $2 million grant from the State of California to support the expansion of the network’s Fresno facility. The new station will include spaces dedicated to youth radio education and community events. This funding was derived from the State General Funds as part of this year’s state budget.

During the press event with State Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula, Radio Bilingüe founder Hugo Morales emphasized the group’s commitment to the area. Established in 1976, the network is renowned for its significant role in Latino programming, with broadcasts in Mexican Indigenous languages like Zapotec and Mixtec.

Radio Bilingüe’s influence extends beyond Fresno, with broadcasts reaching audiences across California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.
