Slightly more than a year after flipping to unique Oldies format “The Oasis,” Grant County Broadcasters is selling WNKN in Middletown, OH to religious broadcaster Relevant Radio. The Class B signal covers the Cincinnati and Dayton metros and sold for $4.5 million – a $500,000 profit for Owner Jeff Zeismann.

The station’s audience had surged to 115,600 in July 2023, up from 59,900 in February. In Dayton, the July 2023 Nielsen PPM results ranked The Oasis at ninth overall.

The sale of WNKN includes tangible property such as a Nautel Transmitter and other broadcast equipment. The acquisition of WNKN will mark a dual-market entry for Relevant Radio. As for Grant County Broadcasters, the focus will likely now shift to WNKR, the brand’s Country Gold station.
