Vox Founder Ezra Klein Taking His Podcast To Public Radio

Starting November 10, The Ezra Klein Show, a podcast launched in 2021, will be offered as a one-hour weekly program to public radio stations by PRX. The program is produced by the New York Times, and its latest episodes have tackled a range of subjects, including artificial intelligence and California’s homelessness crisis. Renowned personalities such as Tom Hanks and author Barbara Kingsolver have also featured in its interviews.

Ezra Klein, the founder and former editor-in-chief of Vox, is ecstatic about the move, noting his long-standing connection with PRX’s programs. Vox has also seen its programming make its way to public radio via Today, Explained.

PRX won’t distribute the show’s podcast, which will remain the remit of American Public Media. The Daily, another New York Times podcast that has transitioned to a public radio program, is also distributed by them.

Klein said, “I’m beyond thrilled to see the show stretch into new audiences and new conversations in partnership with PRX. I grew up on PRX’s programs and their DNA is braided into the work I do now. This is an honor, but also, in a sense, a homecoming.”

PRX Chief of Business Development and Content Jason Saldanha commented, “We’re proud to partner with The New York Times, Ezra, and the team at The Ezra Klein Show to help bring this must-listen program to the public media community. Ezra explores big questions as necessary as they are engaging, and he will be a welcome voice across public radio airwaves.”
