Libsyn’s podcast advertising marketplace AdvertiseCast has released the monthly CPM rates for April 2023. Based on actual sales data from thousands of shows, the average CPM rate for a 60-second ad spot in April 2023 was $23.07. This marks a nearly $1.00 increase compared to the previous month (March 2023 avg. CPM rate: $22.09), but a decrease from April 2022 (avg. CPM rate: $23.84).

The top three categories with the highest CPM rates in April were Technology ($28), Education ($26), and Business ($25). Advertisers looking to target engaged audiences at more accessible CPM rates can explore categories such as Arts, Music, and Fiction, which averaged around the low twenties.
