Changes For WGN Saturday Overnight

1

Beginning July 11 WGN Showcase will air overnight Saturday. The show takes over the WGN Radio Theatre time slot.

Airing 10 PM to 5 AM the show will feature highlights of weekday shows. Newsmaker and celebrity interviews conducted by Bob Sirott, John Williams, Anna Davlantes, and Roe Conn, will also be featured.

The station will continue a partnership with WGN Radio Theatre, which previously ran in the time slot and presented classics from the golden age of radio. The show’s host, Carl Amari, will create special themed times throughout the year.

  1. Being a long time WGN listener and insomniac, I’m very upset about the late night show. I looked forward to the old time radio shows on the weekends. When you cancelled those I still had Nick Digilio to look forward to during the week. I also listen to WGN in the mornings, now at night I have to listen to reruns of what I’ve already heard-so upsetting! I was also disappointed when you let Steven Cocharan go, he got me going in the mornings, Bob Sirot puts me back to sleep. I have put up with many changes in WGN over the years, but now I’m looking for a new station!
