WLEN/Adrian, MI, hosted its 14th Annual Thank a Vet Day on November 11 and raised $31,589 in 14 hours for homeless and other veterans in need in Lenawee County.
The funds are distributed via the Veterans Dire Need Fund operated by Housing Help of Lenawee. Throughout the year, funds will go to local veterans for assistance with rent, mortgage payments to avoid foreclosure, utility bills, rental facilities to store possessions when they are displaced, transportation stipends, and for things as simple as a pair of boots to secure employment.
Once again, TLC Community Credit Union joined WLEN with a matching funds program.
To date, over $280,000 has been raised in this event and distributed to local veterans in Lenawee County.
