Entercom Still Silent on WWL Homophobic Tweet

With Seth Dunlap still out on a self-imposed leave, after Entercom’s own Twitter account attacked him, the company has not responded to a request from Radio Ink for an update on the situation. It’s been over a week since the WWL Twitter account posted a homophobic tweet aimed at Dunlap who is a host on the station.

At first Entercom placed a gag order on Dunlap regarding the matter. Then, Dunlap posted a letter, through his attorney, stating he would be taking a leave of absence.

The Tweet was posted during a company-wide cyber attack on Entercom, although they have not said that was the reason for the tweet. And, even though Entercom has said they were actively investigating the incident and will “take swift and appropriate action once they determine how this occurred,” action has not really been swift at all. Dunlap’s attorney has not heard a word from Entercom since the incident went down.

Two weeks ago, Dunlap penned a letter to Saints QB Drew Brees about Brees’s video for Focus on the Family and his follow-up public statements. Dunlap was critical of Brees’ partnership with “gay conversion therapy types.”

Here’s the tweet that was posted to the WWL Entercom account:
An e-mail request to Entercom’s corporate office for an update on the incident yesterday at 10:00 AM went unanswered.
