A new report from Moffett Nathanson Research states that in 2018 radio revenue will be flat, compared to being down 1% in 2017. Overall, according to the report, total U.S. advertising revenue will increase 6.7% with the bulk of those gains coming from digital (up 17%). Television revenue is projected to grow 2.7% this year, from a 5.5% decline in 2017. Newspapers are expected to be down 8% (down 10% in 2017), and outdoor is projected to be up 1% (flat in 2017). The Winter Olympics and mid-term elections will play a big role in the increase in spending.
