88Nine Radio Milwaukee partnered with the Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee for their annual Noche de Ninos toy drive, leading up to the holidays. This partnership includes collection bins at the studio/coffee shop, in addition to other collection bins at a local restaurant chain called Bel Air Cantina. On December 13, the station hosted a reception at their space for guests to bring a toy, and get a taco (from Bel Air). There was also live music from local band Front Porch Rockers. The 1,546 toys collected during the toy drive will be donated to 12 non-profit organizations that serve local children and families. Those agencies include Christ-St. Peter Lutheran School, H.W. Longfellow School, La Causa, Meta House, Milwaukee Center For Independence, Running Rebels Community Organization, SaintA, Saint Anthony School Milwaukee, St. Martini Lutheran School, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, UMOS, and United Community Center.
