KTI Country Is Truckin’ On For The Troops

94.5 KTI’s “Truck for the Troops” radiothon raised $41,896 to replace a broken-down service vehicle for USO Wisconsin. The all-new truck has all the mod cons, and will mainly serve service members training at Fort McCoy. The radiothon ran from 5 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, November 10. Donations were accepted online at kticountry.com and at a volunteer phone-bank in the studios. The radiothon featured on-air auction items, and a locally based service member, now deployed in the Middle East, made a $5,000 pledge to encourage additional donations.

“KTI Country is Wisconsin’s Country Station — and when USO Wisconsin shared their need with us, we knew we had to take action,” said Ryan Wild, program director for 94.5 KTI COUNTRY. “The radiothon allowed our local listeners to say thank you to the military in a way they will appreciate. We’re so proud to serve such a great community.”

The new truck will be in the field by January.

  1. You would have thought the military could have tossed them a new truck, when this is in today’s news: “The House on Tuesday easily passed the 2018 fiscal year’s nearly $700 billion defense policy bill.” Doesn’t make much sense, does it?
