More Legal Trouble For Spotify

0

Spotify is being sued by two publishers out of Nashville. According to Variety, Rob Gaudino and Bluewater Music allege that Spotify did not have a license to stream thousands of songs from their catalogs. They are asking for $150,000 per infringement. Gaudino’s suit lists a total of 106 compositions. Bluewater claims Spotify infringed by streaming 2399 songs.

You may recall Spotify had settled lawsuits with the National Music Publishers Association and other songwriters. The new suits say the terms of that deal were “woefully inadequate,” because they didn’t properly punish Spotify.
