The name of the new podcast is “Embedded,” and it’s hosted by “All Things Considered” co-host Kelly McEvers. In each episode, McEvers and other NPR reporters are embedded newsmakers around the world, including Texas biker gangs, police on skid row, the makers of a negative political ad, and the people most affected by El Salvador’s gang war.
NPR says the reporters “go in, take the risks, and spend the time that’s required to make sense of the news. Embedded is also a place where NPR reporters will get personal – they’ll admit they are scared or confused. They will wonder what to make of something they’re experiencing for the very first time. They will take you deep into the lives of people you would never otherwise meet.”
