The Georgia Association of Broadcasters has released details for its 2018 Beasley Media Group Radio Talent Institute. The nine-day event is Monday, May 7 through Wednesday, May 16 at the University of Georgia Grady College in Athens. Nineteen students will train and learn from media professionals and college professors. This year, the program will graduate its 100th student. “Students learn from the very people in our industry that do the hiring,” said GAB President Bob Houghton. “These young broadcasters are engaged, talented, and are developing a passion for our industry. I am thrilled we are doing this in Georgia and am grateful to Beasley Media Group for its support as the official sponsor of the Institute. It’s good for our industry, and hopefully will be done all over the country.” “We are honored to support the Georgia Association of Broadcasters in this important initiative that underscores our company’s commitment to educating future broadcasters,” said Beasley Media Group Chief Executive Officer Caroline Beasley. The students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sessions, including a tour of SunTrust Park to meet with the Atlanta Braves marketing team and Atlanta Falcons play-by-play commentator, Wes Durham.
