Reps. Ann McLane Kuster (D-NH) and Chris Stewart (R-UT) have sent a letter to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai asking The Commission to hold off on any regulatory fee increases on broadcasters. They say COVID-19 has hit broadcasters too hard for the government to be piling on. 

RadioAnimal Media Strategies has added former radio programmer Rob Morris to its consulting team. Morris' resume includes VP of Programming for CBS Radio in Tampa and Miami and PD at KDWB in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Hometown Broadcasting in Wisconsin announced on its website that a tragic kayaking accident over the weekend took the life of Tami McCauley, who listeners knew as Lexi Young. McCauley was kayaking with her sister Saturday, on the Mecan River, when something went wrong and she drowned.

Big D has joined The Big 98, New Country in Nashville. He takes over the afternoon drive slot on the iHeartMedia Country station.

Local high school and college athletes will be honored by 101.1 ESPN Peoria. The nominees and winner will be announced Friday, June 19.

Valentine in the Morninghas been launched on MOViN' 107.7 in Norfolk. The iHeart syndicated show originates in LA.

Tamron Hall will host the 2020 NAB Leadership Foundation Celebration of Service to America Awards. The hour-long event will be pre-recorded and available on line and for radio and TV broadcast in August.

The National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters is out with another call for more opportunities for Black ownership of stations. In a statement entitled: Words Are Not Enough, NABOB addresses the lack of Black owned stations, the impact of the George Floyd incident and the impact that COVID-19 has had on Black Broadcasters.

Babbel wasn't too far behind the Insurance giant, however, with 74,436 commercials running on radio stations across America, Progressive was the top national radio advertiser last week, according to Media Monitors. Babbel ran 71,627.
