Ernie Anastos is rejoining Red Apple Media's flagship New York station WABC (770 AM) with a new program called Positively Ernie with Ernie Anastos. The show will have Anastos focusing on a single topic every day, with a positive perspective on the stories that shape the world.

Bob Stei makes the move from nights to afternoon drive on Rocker KBSZ-FM in Phoenix. Stei follows Bubba the Love Sponge’s morning show, and Poor Boy who handles middays. Station Owner Len Novin will swap shifts with Stei and take on evenings.

Lotus Communications' Seattle talk station KVI (570 AM) has added conservative host Todd Herman to its line-up. Herman's show will run every Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. He will also provide daily commentary segments for KVI.

Cox Media Group has hired Kara Smith to serve as its integrated sales manager for the company's Atlanta radio cluster. Smith joins Cox from the Scripps' ABC station WCPO in Cincinnati, where she worked as a sales manager for nearly four years.

SiriusXM and Levar Burton are teaming up on a new children's podcast series that is one part Sherlock Holmes, one part Carmen Sandiego. The podcast, called Sound Detectives, was inspired in part by Burton's childhood in which he listened to the radio while living overseas.

Richard Chapin, a Nebraska radio executive who spent more than three decades building out a Midwest radio powerhouse and who was the first broadcaster to serve as the chairman of NAB and RAB, died at the age of 99.

The Billy Joel Channel has made its annual return to SiriusXM satellite and streaming radio, running from January 4 to February 2 on SiriusXM Channel 14 and on the SiriusXM app. The channel comes several weeks before the start of a tour featuring Joel and fellow musician Stevie Nicks.
