Westwood One has announced that Rich Valdés is the new host of The Jim Bohannon Show. The show will continue to be broadcast in the 10P-1A time period. Bohannon ended his 40-year radio run last week due to his health.

Salem Media Group has entered into an agreement with Actualidad Media Group to purchase the assets of WMYM AM 990 and its translator on FM 98.7 (W254DT). Salem owns Spanish-language radio stations in Dallas, in Portland and Denver.

The New York Post is reporting that Jon Sciambi will take over the radio call of the World Series in 2023. Dan Shulman has been calling the games since 2011. Over the years, great announcers such as Vin Scully, Jack Buck and Jon Miller sat in the radio seat. Sciambi becomes only the fifth radio voice of the World Series.

Compass Media Networks has been chosen as the syndication partner for The Frank Ski Show. The show airs in morning drive in Atlanta on Cox Media Group’s WALR-FM and afternoons in Washington, DC on Howard University’s WHUR-FM.

Audacy and United Stations Media Networks have entered into a new strategic alliance which will begin with a content distribution partnership. Audacy will use the United Stations national distribution platform to widen its footprint for on-air content and talent.

Swiffer wiped out Progressive at the top of the Media Monitors list. Progressive, had occupied the top spot for weeks, was swept out of the top by the popular cleaning appliance.

Mr. Master has changed the name of its Automation  Import Manager software to AIM Premium and its MediaShooterPro software to AIM Basic.

Longtime KNX News anchor and podcaster Mike Simpson moves to mornings to host the show alongside co-host Vicky Moore and traffic reporter and news personality Jennifer York. The moves follow the retirement of morning news anchor Dick Helton after 24 years at KNX.
