What’s Going On at WCBS-AM and 1010 WINS?
This may be nothing more than a negotiating ploy by The Writers Guild of America on behalf of workers at 1010 WINS and WCBS-FM. The New York Daily News is reporting that Entercom wants to "cross-utilize" talent and one 1010 WINS editor is quoted in the story saying Entercom plans to fire staffers, "in essence making it one newsroom."
House Passes Pirate Act – Again
The Pirate Act increases fines for illegal pirate operations from $10,000 per violation to $100,000 per day per violation, up to a maximum of $2,000,000, and streamlines the FCC’s enforcement. The Pirate Act was approved by The House in a voice vote.
Reality Is Catching Up To Television

Even with this declining viewership, the four big networks and their affiliates were able to maintain their average unit rate. Reduced viewership combined with flat unit rates resulted in soaring TV costs-per-point. This made radio a cheaper alternative.

Dean Obeidallah (pictured) is asking for more than $1 million in a lawsuit filed against a neo-Nazi website run by Andrew Anglin called The Daily Stormer. Obeidallah hosts a three-hour weekday show on SiriusXM's Progress channel (127).
