Broadcast ratings for nearly all of NPR's radio shows took a steep dive in major markets this spring. That's according to a report in NPR. They put the blame squarely on the coronavirus pandemic, saying the virus kept many Americans from commuting, and that caused the decline.

The NAB is counting down the days to the centennial anniversary of the first commercial radio broadcast, which took place on November 2, 1920. As part of the online and on-air #Radio100 campaign, NAB released the #Radio100 toolkit to help stations celebrate the milestone.

President Donald Trump has appointed Salem Radio Network host Dr. Sebastian Gorka to the National Security Education Board. Gorka advised the Trump campaign in 2016, and joined the White House in early 2017 as a strategic advisor on national security.

SB Nation will now be called SportsMap Radio Network. Gow Media has owned the network for over ten years, when it acquired the assets of Sporting News Radio. Gow then rebranded the network to Yahoo Sports Radio for 5 years, then SB Nation Radio for 4.

Kiss 108 (WXKS-FM), iHeart Media, Boston, is hoping to help fill the technology gap in schools. The station is partnering with the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents and the Massachusetts Department of Education to purchase Chromebooks for local students to use at home and in the classroom.
