The National Association of Broadcasters has created a new position of Chief Diversity Officer. Michelle Duke will lead the NAB's internal efforts to further equity and inclusion at all levels of the organization and elevate NAB's external role as a resource to members efforts to increase and promote diversity in the industry.

Brilliantly Black is an initiative to support local black-owned businesses, restaurants and non-profits in Chicago. Listeners on all six iHeart Chicago stations are encouraged to visit station websites and enter the keyword “brilliant.”

On Friday, ESPN Radio and The Undefeated – ESPN’s multiplatform content initiative will debut The Intersection at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN Radio. The two-hour, weekly show will feature discussions that will continue the conversation around the impact of social justice on sports and society.

94.7 The Wave (KTWV-FM) in LA will air Justice Now!-Communities 2 Unity Friday. The program will be carried the Entercom station and nationally on RADIO.COM.

The 14th Annual John DeBella Veterans Radiothon is set for Friday on WMGK 102.9, Bala Cynwyd, PA. Proceeds will benefit the Veterans Multi-Service Center in nearby Philadelphia.

(Hal Slifer) By While many college radio stations have gone silent and many commercial radio stations have had major staff cutbacks, Emerson College’s radio station, WERS, has continued to attract new listeners in the competitive Boston radio market. 

This story dates back to September of 2019 when Saga asked The FCC to deny the license renewals of five LPFM stations in Charlottesville. Saga claimed they were operating as a cluster, which is against FCC rules for LPFM's.

A threat of a $23,500 penalty seems to have done the trick with Anthony Edwards who's been operating an illegal radio station he called World Hype Radio in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Edwards decided to cut a deal with the FCC.

Baltimore Police have arrested Richard S. Green in the shooting death of Gospel station WEAA-FM Host Tyra Womack June 10. Green was apprehended after six days on the run.

The Board of Directors of the Broadcasters Foundation of America has elected Scott Herman, long time CBS Radio executive and current CEO of SHH Media Management, as Chair. He takes over for another CBS Radio top executive Dan Mason, who will remain on the board
