NBC’s Andrea Mitchell Honored with 2024 Gracies Icon Award

The Alliance for Women in Media has announced that NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent and Chief Washington Correspondent Andrea Mitchell will receive the prestigious Gracies Icon Award at the 2024 Gracies Leadership Awards.

The Gracies Icon Award celebrates individuals who have made a significant impact on the media industry, and Mitchell’s achievements as a pioneering woman in journalism make her a deserving recipient.

Mitchell’s career has spanned decades of reporting on presidential campaigns, international conflicts, and national security issues. She is also the host of Andrea Mitchell Reports on MSNBC and has covered key global events such as the Reagan/Gorbachev summits, the Israel-Hamas conflict, and the war in Ukraine. Her reporting has taken her to challenging regions like Iraq, Afghanistan, and North Korea.

Mitchell has received numerous honors throughout her career, including the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 40th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards and the Freedom of the Press Award from the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.

The 2024 Gracies Leadership Awards will also recognize other honorees, including Radio Ink President and Publisher Deborah Parenti. Sylvia Strobel will receive the Legacy Leadership Award for her contributions to the industry and the Alliance for Women in Media. The event will be held on Tuesday, November 19, at Tribeca 360° in New York City. Tickets are on sale now.
