Yavapai Broadcasting’s annual Harvest to Feed the Hungry Food Drive collected 10,436 pounds of food in six hours, nearly 1,000 pounds more than last year. Donations benefited local food banks and nonprofit organizations throughout Northern Arizona.
Held in partnership with a local grocery chain, the drive brought listeners, local businesses, and sponsors to multiple locations in Flagstaff, Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Cottonwood.
The effort was supported by The Cloud 95.9 (KKLD), Country 105.7 (KVRD), Q102.9 (KQST), KYBC 1600/96.3 (KYBC-AM), ESPN Flagstaff (KVNA-AM), and The Peak 100.1 (KVNA).
Last October, the drive collected 9,441 pounds of food. In 2024, the drive collected 7,395 pounds on Oct. 9. In March, Jensen was promoted from Regional Director of Sales to General Manager of Yavapai Broadcasting.
Yavapai Broadcasting General Manager Mike Jensen said, “Local radio is about more than music, news, and advertising. It’s about making a difference in the communities we serve. Thanks to the incredible support of Fry’s Grocery, our listeners, advertisers, and staff, we accomplished something special in just six hours. This is what makes local radio so powerful.”
