Do Your Sellers Need Acting Lessons?

(By Chris Stonick) Acting and sales have a lot in common. In my free time, I do a little acting, which I really enjoy. To me, acting and sales have a lot in common. Great actors prepare. Great actors rehearse. Great actors have thick skin because the critics are not always kind. And great actors go on casting call after casting call after casting call.

Great actors know success is not luck – success is having a great game plan and following through. Sales is the same way. Great salespeople prepare, practice, hear the words “no” and go on to the next call, and the next call, and the next call. If you want to be a successful salesperson… act like it!
