After a lengthy run in the top three, Progressive disappeared entirely from the Media Monitors list of radio’s top national advertisers for the week of June 19-25 in a huge pre-July 4 shakeup. The winner of the fluctuation was radio, with the highest spot play from the top five advertisers since Memorial Day week.

The Home Depot made a strong comeback after one week off the list, claiming the top spot with 51,729 spot plays. ZipRecruiter also regained its position in the top five, securing the second spot with 46,792 plays.

Upside remains a consistent performer, holding onto the third position with 46,165 spot plays. Verizon Wireless maintained its presence in the rankings, albeit with a slightly lower spot play count of 42,947. Target rounded out the top five with 40,521 spot plays.

The total spot play count for the top five advertisers grew significantly from 202,797 in the previous week to 228,154 in the current week. This demonstrates a much-needed upward trend in advertising activity after a sluggish start to summer. This lifted the average spot plays per advertiser from 40,559.4 to 45,630.8.
