JVC Media has completed its acquisition of an AM signal and its FM translator on Long Island in New York. Commercial Assets, Inc. sold WLIM-AM 1440 in Medford, NY, and 93.3 W227CL in Port Jefferson, NY for $500,000. The transaction was facilitated by Mark Jorgenson of Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage, Inc.
Under Commercial Assets, the station had been a Soft AC format branded as The Breeze. Currently, JVC is rebroadcasting its Big Hits 98.1 (WPTY-HD2) on these frequencies, but the company has announced that a new format will be introduced in the near future.
