TelevisaUnivision has named a new General Manager for its Miami radio stations following the departure of Claudia Puig after 26 years. Puig was recently named SVP for State Government Affairs and Political Partner Solutions. Eric Garcia will be the new President/GM, reporting to Jesus Lara, who was just promoted to President of Local Media.

Garcia will be responsible for the overall direction, strategy, and growth of Mix 98.3 (WRTO) and 107.5 Amor (WLVE). Garcia joined Univision in 2018 as the Director of Audio Sales for X96.3 (WXNY) in New York and has since held various roles within the company.

Prior to joining TelevisaUnivision, Garcia spent nearly 14 years at Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS), where he served as VP/GM for Mega 97.9 (WSKQ) and 93.1 Amor (WPAT) in New York. He began his career in Hispanic radio as an account representative for Interep in 2002.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Eric to our team in Miami,” said Lara. “He understands the importance of generating new ideas, embracing diversity, and maximizing our brands and resources to achieve market leadership. We are confident that under Eric’s guidance, Univision Miami will continue to thrive, grow and deliver exceptional value to our audience and our partners.”

Garcia commented, “I am truly honored to lead the talented team at Univision Miami. At Univision, we are driven by a powerful mission to inform, empower, and entertain our community. I am deeply passionate about this mission and my greatest joy lies in leading, building, and creating innovative revenue streams for Univision’s multi-media brands and platforms. Together, we will set higher standards within our core and drive excellence within the media and entertainment industry.”
