Police raided former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon’s home and podcast studio in Washington, DC while he was doing a live episode of War Room last week in a “swatting” incident. Authorities received an erroneous call reporting a shooting at the location.
Law enforcement arriving and entering the home could be heard on the episode before Bannon went to an ad break. The conservative host said this isn’t the first time this had happened to him, and suggested that it was an attempt to silence him.
“Swatting” is a federal crime in the United States, punishable by up to a lifetime in prison. Bannon’s War Room podcast has been accused of including misinformation and conspiracy claims in a February study by the Brookings Institute.
If you’re going to list the Brookline’s Institute as a reliable source you might want to mention their president resigned last year while under investigation by the Feds on illegal Qatari lobbying.
