Real Rock 104.9 is gone, 104-9 Fox Sports Upstate is on the air. The complete line-up of Fox Sports Radio programming has replaced the rock playlist.
“We’re excited to bring back the Fox Sports Radio brand to the Upstate,” said Brian Hall, SVP Programming. “Our listeners will have access to the best names in sports talk, plus regional coverage. It’s also a natural pairing with the South Carolina Gamecocks. Game On Upstate!”
Outside of the 24/7 Fox Sports line-up; veteran South Carolina sports broadcaster Phil Kornblut, will still host a weekday program from 6-8 pm.
Not sure why owners are so insistent on jamming so many sports talk formatted stations into each market. Most end up having relatively poor ratings, particularly the ones that rely mainly on bird feed. Very few (mainly large market) sports talkers do well in the ratings. Yet some markets have several players in the format. I don’t get it.
