Augusta, ME, Camp-Out Fights Hunger

WMME-FM and WEBB-FM are camping out to fight hunger in central Maine. The camp-out started November 5 and will end November 9 at noon.

“Food security is a big deal in our area. One out of five kids go to school without enough to eat. Twenty percent of our kids go to bed at night without only having that one full meal at school and we want to put an end to it,” said Matt James, host, 92 Moose Morning Show.

Cash and non-perishable food items are being accepted at the campsite in the Sam’s Club parking lot in Augusta. The food donations are going towards the Capital Region Salvation Army. The money is going to be distributed through the United Way of the Kennebec Valley to about 30 central Maine food banks.
