The WFAN afternoon host has been in a ratings battle with ESPN’s Michael Kay in the highly competitive New York City market. Both hosts declared victory in the latest ratings and there has been some discussion about how the ratings are determined, because of online listening. The New York Post captured Francesa tweeting on Saturday that this would be the final time about how the ratings are truly determined.
Here’s what Francesa posted to Twitter, according to The Post: “This is the last time I will ever make a statement about the calculation of the radio ratings. There is only one possible way to read them. Anyone, and that means anyone, who says differently is either a fool or a liar. Case closed.”
By including the streaming numbers, Francesa comes in slightly higher than Kay (25-54). Without it, Kay Wins.
