On Wednesday the United States Senate finally confirmed Geoffrey Starks as an FCC Commissioner and Commissioner Brendan Carr for a full term. The Commission will now have all five members as it gets ready to close for business, today at noon. The politicians in Washington continue to fight over funding for a border wall and are without a budget.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai congratulated Starks and welcomed him to the Commission. “He brings a wealth of experience and expertise, including having served most recently as Assistant Chief in the Enforcement Bureau. During his confirmation hearing, I was excited to hear him highlight the need to expand rural broadband and the power of telemedicine. I look forward to working with him and having a fellow Kansan on the Commission.

Carr, nominated and previously confirmed in August of 2017 (though only just now for his full term), was an advisor to Pai during his time as a Commissioner, and before that worked at a law firm that works with telecoms.

The Commission is made up of 3 Republicans and 2 Democrats.
