Coaches Swinging Hard Against Cancer

There are golf tournaments and then there are golf tournaments. But the American Cancer Society’s 10th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Las Vegas Golf Classic, May 22-23, was in a league of its own. College basketball coaches from around the US raised over a million dollars net with the event and radio was there to cover it. FOX Sports Radio’s Doug Gottlieb broadcast his show live from Shadow Creek Golf Course in Vegas – one of the courses used during the event. That night, FOX’s JT “The Brick” broadcast live from Topgolf Las Vegas, the site of the evening’s festivities for the Las Vegas Golf Classic.

“FOX Sports Radio’s impact on the 10th annual Coaches vs. Cancer Las Vegas Golf Classic was so important to the event this year,” said Oklahoma basketball coach Lon Kruger, the event’s founder/chair. “JT ‘The Brick’ has been a critical part of our efforts for four years and has helped the event grow significantly in that time. To have him and Doug Gottlieb both broadcast live from the Classic helped to raise awareness like never before. We know supporting the fight against cancer is personal to both Doug and JT and we enjoyed having them and FOX Sports Radio as a part of our team.”

Over the past decade, the event has generated more than $3.6 million net to support the American Cancer Society.
