Mike McVay Deemed A Music Innovator

The Innovation in Music Awards has announced Cumulus’ Mike McVay as the recipient of the Heritage Award in Innovation. The award serves to recognize McVay as a music-industry professional who has committed his entire career to identifying groundbreaking initiatives and discovering new talent.
He is Senior VP Content & Programming for Cumulus Media and Westwood One, overseeing the programming of 450 radio stations and two radio networks.
McVay is a 40-year programmer with consulting, management, ownership, sales, programming, and on-air experience, as well as having developed and launched several nationally syndicated programs. He has programmed around the world as a consultant with more than 300 stations to his credit. McVay is a recipient of the prestigious Rockwell Award, was ranked #4 among America’s Top-Programmers by Radio Ink magazine, is #14 on the Top-40 Most Powerful Broadcaster list from Radio Ink, and was named one of the Titans of Talk by NTS magazine every year 2012-2016.
Leslie Fram (CMT) has been named the recipient of the Innovation in National Media Award. This award recognizes Fram as a trailblazer in exposing new music on a national level, such as her work with “Next Women of Country” and the digital series Concrete Country.
McVay and Fram will accept their awards during the inaugural event on June 6 at the Westin Hotel in Nashville, TN.
