Big Win For Chairman Wheeler

Despite the outcry that the FCC was overreaching and swaying to political winds with its net neutrality rules, a court has sided with the Commission, and given Chairman Tom Wheeler a big win, upholding the FCC’s net neutrality regulations. On Tuesday, the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld rules the agency imposed in February 2015. The decision confirms the FCC’s argument that it has the authority to place broadband providers under some of the same strict regulations that have governed telephone networks for more than 80 years.
