Ken Beno has announced his resignation as Chair of the Education Committee at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, a position he has held for over two decades. Beno’s tenure with the WBA spans more than 30 years.

Beno’s career in broadcasting is marked by diverse roles, including working in commercial broadcasting, teaching at university and community college levels, and managing radio and TV stations. His involvement with the WBA deepened after a meeting with John Laabs in the early 90s, leading him to teach the Radio Advertising Bureau’s “Radio Marketing Professional Certification” course, certifying 840 students across Wisconsin.

Throughout his time with the WBA, Beno has been instrumental in fostering the development of future broadcast professionals through engaging and relevant educational programs. His contributions have been recognized with an induction into the WBA Hall of Fame.

Reflecting on his time at the WBA, Ken Beno shared his appreciation for the friendships and professional relationships he has developed, stating, “A huge thank you to the staff of the WBA, Michelle Vetterkind, Kyle Geisler, Liz Boyd, Linda Baun, and John Laabs for all of their guidance, assistance, and friendship over the years. I am extremely grateful to the Board of Directors and the Foundation for supporting the committee and my endeavors. They continue to demonstrate their support of and investment in education.”
