Westwood One News won the Sigma Delta Chi award from The Society of Professional 
Journalists for its breaking news coverage of the Las Vegas concert shooting last October. The winning entry included on-scene reporting by correspondent Jim Roope (pictured here) and contributions from the entire Westwood One News staff.
The “Radio Breaking News Reporting Award” recognizes resourceful and complete coverage of a major breaking news event, emphasizing both deadline reporting and continuing coverage as the story develops over succeeding days.
