The fourth annual Confer Radio Talent Institute opens today at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. It runs for 10 days. Students with a desire and drive to be in radio were accepted from nine different universities, including Susquehanna University, Penn State, Ohio University, Slippery Rock University, Robert Morris, Temple, East Stroudsburg, and North Carolina A&T, as well as Bloomsburg.

Lifelong broadcaster and Forever Media Partner Kerby Confer (pictured) said, “We want to make a difference, to give back and give this next generation a good firm foundation in how the communications business works — radio, TV, Internet; it’s all intertwined now. I think we are going to birth a whole new generation of radio people.”

Radio Imaging Specialist and national voice talent Pat Garrett; Joe Conti, President of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters; and others, join 35 radio pros from iHeart, Entercom, Seven Mountains Media, Forever Media Group, Beasley Media Group, Cumulus, and CBS to lead the sessions. Sessions cover almost every aspect of radio — from sales to on-air in music radio, sports, news, production, promotions, digital, social media, and engineering.

Individual broadcasters, groups, or organizations who would like to join the National Radio Talent System™ in establishing a Radio Talent Institute™ on a campus in their state and region, should contact
