Chicago has had its share of problems in recent times and there’s never been more of a need to give the city’s youth some hope. So WGN Radio is teaming up with the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, the City of Chicago and over 30 radio stations to launch a citywide radio fundraising campaign for One Summer Chicago 2017, a McCormick Foundation Fund. One Summer Chicago provides more than 31,000 jobs, internships, and other meaningful experiences to teens and young adults ages 14-24. Donations to One Summer support local nonprofits with programs serving high-need communities.
“We are so honored that the Radio Broadcasters of Chicago stepped forward to help us amplify One Summer Chicago 2017 fundraising efforts,” said David Hiller, President and CEO. “This campaign gives Chicagoans the opportunity to help bring summer opportunities to young people, keeping them on a pathway to high school graduation and career success.”
