Kuby was utterly crude, rude and denigrating. He crossed the line between expressing thought provoking opinion and outright crudeness, and abusing basic norms of respect and decency toward other human beings, which ought to have been an anathema to someone who supposedly champions humanist values. When a caller intelligently challenged him, he would shout him down, call him a wiseguy, fake a foolish laugh to drown out the caller’s voice, change the topic or tell him to die. His intelligence has unfortunately been wasted on a horribly warped personality. He would attempt to rehabilitate his twisted personality by repeatedly making sure we all knww about the purported normalcy of his personal life.

WABC (and WOR)’s Corporate rulers have forgotten (or perhaps never learned) what makes for good talk radio. It’s called conversation…as in an exchange of thoughtful ideas. And that was what made Curtis and Kuby work. And made people of all political stripes LISTEN. The rest of WABC is nothing more than the Right Wing Ministry of Truth..with shill hosts following the day’s talking points..mainly still attacking Obama, Mrs. Clinton, and anyone with any moderate or liberal view who doesn’t tow the Right Wing manifesto. There is NO longer ANY reason to listen to WABC or patronize its sponsors. It is programmers like these who are killing AM radio by boring the audience to other media. WABC’s Program Director will be remembered for..ah, well, um… nothing.

I’ve always enjoyed Kuby’s insight and irreverent perspective. However, when Ron referred to Melania Trump as “an eastern European prostitute” on air, he lost me as a fan. I wish him luck, but some things cannot be unsaid.
Curtis and Kuby were the best radio team of NYC radio, but Kuby was getting sloppy and childlike towards the end, like a problem of his private life was encroaching and wreaking havoc on his radio talent. Focus, child.

It was always so much fun listening to Kuby. Very erudite and quite a good balance for Curtis. I was shocked when I discovered that Ron was off the show. A few months ago he was talking about his huge tax refund and weeks before that about how grateful he was that his contract was renewed and how lucrative it was. I don’t believe for a word his explanation on Facebook. Ron seems to be leaving his doors open. But it was awful that he was fired. Maybe, someone did not like his enlightening perspectives to the news and had to get rid of him. We will never know. Savage was heavily criticized by Curtis but yet Curtis survived. Not sure who or what made WABC drop the axe on Ron but his departure is a great loss. Radio with the new host(ess) is not as fun as it was before.
I could be the reason hes gone, I told Curtis (on air) a few months back in so many words its time for a change, this happened soon after Kuby out and out disrespected Curtis by trying to paint Curtis a racist… Were they a good team I think so and Kuby had from my perspective pretty thick skin… Maybe: just maybe management realized it was time to stop pocket lining someone who didn’t have the same level of concern for the show’s integrity the way Curtis obvious does… No matter: Ron is gone and she’ll make a few dollar’s and the ratings will decide her faith… Mean time If management is smart…short term contracts until the right match is once again rediscovered… Good luck to all…
Was a car service driver in Brooklyn and listen show for 18 years. After moving to Canada kept listening and considered Curtis and Kuby most balanced and informative show. Best of luck to both Curtis and Ron but I could not listen the show anymore… Very sad… Ron will be missed..

I travel the county and listened to Curtis & Kuby every day via iheartradio. It was the one show on all of talk radio that has not decedent into the daily middle aged angry men Trump cheer-leading squad. They were a great team and that is that. Hopefully Kuby will show up somewhere on radio in the future to piss everybody off. It was fun.

Its a lost to a great show. Kuby and Curtis had ying and yang nice balance. It was entertaining but informative. Curtis knows the city like no one else. Kuby knows the law and policy like no one else. Looks like I will go back to Rush and catch Curtis at 5pm

Whether you agreed with Ron or not,whether you liked him or not, he was knowledgeable and intelligent. Now the show is like every other 2 person talk show on the radio. Bland, boring, inoffensive and not terribly clever. I tried listening to the new show twice but it doesn’t work for me. I now listen to music from 12-3. BRING BACK KUBY!!
Big mistake firing Ron. He is brilliant and had great chemistry with Sliwa. He was not afraid to speak his mind. His replacement seems like she’ll be a “yes” person. Not at all challenging to Sliwa. I think that’s what Curtis wanted. I happen to dislike her voice as well.

Yes Ron is smart. I do not agree with most of his views. He did yell a lot when he got defensive. Too much anti white comments. He wasn’ “Jewish” until his mother passed , it seems now he likes to describe himself as a Jew but doesn’t believe in ” The invisible man in the sky” . However for some strange reason most of the time I enjoyed listening to him. I will give the new show a chance since I really respect Curtis and trust that he will continue to do well.

Graduated Fordham Law in 1980, when I needed a scholarly legal explanation of a legal case in the news Kuby was second to none. While he and I do not see eye to eye on most issues as a lawyer I recognized a brilliant legal scholar who will be missed. Mistake firing Kuby simple as that.

The mixture of erudite Kung and street tough Curtis was potent and engaging. I listened to new duo (C&E) and was bored. I guess I’ll find an IHeartRadio station for my 12-3 listening.
I respected Kuby. I did not like his political views but he did make his point clear.
I’m surprised to say I will miss Ron. Most programs are conservative and I do like that.
Kuby and Sliwa were amazing together. Their daily dissension with each other and all else around them made them the best talk show period.
That’s the problem with radio: 99% conservative crap. If you don’t have a dissenting voice (Kuby) then you end up ignorant. Another stupid corporation gets rid of one of their best talkers–keep it up and I will be jettisoning both my TV and my radio.
