Cleveland Jock Quits. Accuses CBS Radio of Censorship.
In January CBS Cleveland (92.3 The Fan) host Kevin Kiley got himself in hot water for saying there's "no place for a woman in professional sports, in football, coaching men," after the Buffalo Bills hired Kathryn Smith as an assistant coach. Kiley is now saying he's quitting - at the end of the month - because CBS Radio sent him a letter threatening his job if he didn't tone down his rhetoric.
Ed Argow Dies At Age 87
Argow started at Grey Advertising in the mail room in the 1950s. He moved into media planning/buying soon after. Noticing that salespeople were making more money than planners and buyers, he decided to give sales a shot. He started at a small rep firm in NYC and excelled. He then went to work for McGavern Guild when Ralph Guild hired him away from a smaller rep firm in New York.

Mulvey Takes Over Sales At WBEB
The legendary Jerry Lee station in Philadelphia has hired Kerry Mulvey for the newly created position of Director of Sales. Mulvey has over 30 years of media experience, most recently as Director of Integrated Marketing at CBS Radio in Philadelphia.

Entercom Same Station Q4 2015 Revenue Up 2%
CEO David Field says when you back out political in Q4, revenue was up 5% and he was very upbeat about his company's performance, both in the back half of 2015 as well as pacing for the first half of 2016.
CBS Radio Revenue Declines 5%
CBS Corporation reported strong revenue growth in Q4 of 2015. Profits fell by 37% because the company took a big charge to write down the value of some of its radio stations, "to reduce the carrying value of radio FCC licenses to their fair value." Revenue at CBS' radio stations was down 5% in Q4, blamed on "continued softness in the radio advertising marketplace and lower political advertising."
Is Pandora For Sale?
Fortune Magazine
and The New York Times
say yes. And Fortune goes so far as to say, "The money-losing music service has put itself on the block," and calls it nothing more than a fire sale. The Times reports Pandora has taken the step to hire Morgan Stanley to shop the company around. Fortune says that with Pandora losing about $10 million every month, "it’s difficult to see who would see such a deal as attractive."
Pandora Will Be A $4 Billion Business
CEO Brian McAndrews says Pandora will achieve that goal within five years. In 2015, Pandora took in $1.164 billion in revenue. Here's the plan McAndrews laid out which gives him the confidence his company can hit that $4 billion number by 2021.
