Colyar Leaves The Beach For The Studio

It’s a far cry from Venice Beach, where comedian Michael Colyar cut his comedic teeth doing five shows a day for nine years. His new gig is on The Afternoon Rush, which airs 3-7 p.m. ET. The show is anchored by the Ebony Steele and sidekick Loni Swain, and is syndicated by American Urban Radio Networks. Originally from Chicago, Colyar is also known for being the original host of BET Live from LA, where he entertained more than 55 million viewers coast to coast.

Mike Love, who oversees programming for the show, said, “We’re delighted to add the comedic talents of Colyar. He’s funny, politically astute, and his adult approach to the issues of our time make him the perfect fit.”
