WWLS in Oklahoma City will host the Bob Barry Inaugural Memorial Golf Classic Monday, August 8. The event will honor the late Bob Barry, the longtime Oklahoma City sportscaster and WWLS morning show personality who passed away last June. Barry hosted mornings on WWLS with former Oklahoma State University football coach Pat Jones. Barry died in a motorcycle accident. He was 58.

Thirteen current and former NFL players are participating in the fourth annual NFL Sports Journalism and Radio Boot Camp at Bowling Green State University that runs through the 17th.

Thanks to our friends at BIA/Kelsey who helped us take a look back at how radio revenue has grown since 1996. We used the top ten billing radio stations in the country, a list BIA/Kelsey releases every March. Several stations, that were powerhouses years ago, are long gone from the list, while others, like WFAN, the first-ever sports talk radio station in America, continue to churn out the revenue.

As promised, Dan Sileo, Morning Man on The Mighty 1090 in San Diego, asked CBS CEO Les Moonves why the company was getting out of radio, especially, Sileo said, when CBS was built on radio. Moonves agreed that the company was started and grew from the vision of William S. Paley who began it all in radio. Here's what Moonves told Sileo about the future of CBS Radio.

This is a follow-up to a story we told you about back in February. Proclaim FM 102.3 Toledo host Mark Howington was arrested for inappropriately touching a woman. Police say the 52-year-old slapped a woman on the butt inside the women's restroom of a Target. He's been sentenced to one year of probation after he was convicted of assault.

Sitting beside Shaq and Adam Carolla, PodcastOne CEO Norm Pattiz tells Forbes media writer Zack O'Malley Greenburg that even though podcasting was only a $34 million business when he got into it, he expects another zero will be added to that in short order. And Pattiz believes he can turn PodcastOne into a national juggernaut much like he did with Westwood One.

Erik Johnson has been named Senior VP of Programming and Hoss Michaels PD for KXKT/KFFF. Johnson previously served as PD for iHeart Omaha's KXKT, KFFF, and KISO, and will continue as PD of KGOR, KISO, and KISO-HD2, as well as continuing to host the PM Drive on KXKT. Michaels will continue hosting the midday show on KXKT.

ESPN New York's Hahn & Humpty will join MSG’s weeknight summer programing lineup. Every Monday through Thursday, from Monday, May 23 through September 8, MSG Network’s Knicks studio analyst Alan Hahn and former Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro will give MSG viewers a look inside their studio with a one-hour highlight show from 7-8 p.m.

Daniel Anstandig's Futuri Media has received a patent to further protect the system the company has built which powers Listener Driven Radio, a takeover technology already in place at hundreds of radio stations.

Normally, the NAB and RAB announce the city for the following year's show at the tail end of the current year's show. This year the word is out early.
