Scott Hamilton To Keynote At CRS
Olympic Gold Medalist, TV broadcaster, best-selling author, humanitarian, and cancer survivor Scott Hamilton, will be the Country Radio Seminar's keynote speaker. CRS President Charlie Morgan will interview Hamilton Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 4–5:00 p.m. Hamilton won a gold medal in figure skating in 1984 in Saravejo.

Vreeland Leaving WBAZ Long Island
Walker Vreeland has been on the air with the Long Island Radio Broadcasting station for over 10 years. Vreeland will be leaving WBAZ-FM to relocate to New York City where he'll produce his autobiographical monologue From Ship to Shape, continue his voiceover work, and podcast.
Joyner Announces Replacement Comedians
When comedian J. Anthony Brown left The Tom Joyner Morning Show at the end of last month, Joyner announced there would be rotating co-hosts to fill Brown's chair until a permanent replacement was hired. Joyner says starting in 2017 Arsenio Hall, Bill Bellamy, Kym Whitley, and returning co-host Sherri Shepherd and Lavell Crawford will be featured co-hosts.

Walgreens Makes Big Jump Toward Top
The pharmacy chain jumped from 31st to 2nd on the weekly Media Monitors list, airing 31,909 commercials on radio stations all across the country. GEICO held on to the number one spot with 40,006 spots. Burger King took third with 31,909 while Macy's came in fourth running 30,276 and Verizon fifth airing 29,075 spots. The Home Depot fell from third place two weeks ago to seventh last week.

The Southern California Broadcasters Association is turning 79 on Wednesday. The organization represents 165 member radio stations in Southern California and says it is the longest-running association of its kind.
$600K+ A Great Charity Drive For Hospital
That’s what 93.3 The Drive raised with its 16th Annual Drive for Miracles radiothon benefitting the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The two-day radiothon stirred the people of Peoria into action, December 8-9, and reaching a final tally of $633,100.
